GENERAL INFORMATION

Christ Group of Educational Institutions are run by the Catholic Minority Community, with all the rights and privileges granted by the Constitution of India and recognized but unaided by the Department of Education of Jammu and Kashmir State. It imparts instruction to students from Pre-Primary in English Medium with Hindi and Urdu as Second and Additional Optional Languages respectively.

ADMISSION

Admission to Christ School is restricted by certain government regulations and by conditions of age, mental aptitude and ability, and conduct of the candidate. Applicants for admission will be interviewed, tested and admitted to the standard they are found fit according to the vacancies available. Every candidate for admission must be introduced by the parent/guardian who will be responsible for his/her conduct, application to studies, discipline and fees. The admission fee, tuition fee for the month & annual fee also are collected at the time of admission.

ATTENDANCE

Attendance is obligatory. If your child/children are going to be absent from school or late in arriving for any reason please call at the school to inform the office. Parents must also clearly state the reason for absence in the Leave Record of the School Diary. Punctuality is important for all students. No student suffering from a contagious or infectious disease shall be permitted to attend the school. This holds good for test and examination days also. Necessary exemption may be given for absence on medical grounds. Proper medical certificate should be presented as soon as the child returns to class. Continued absence without leave will render a student liable to have his / her name struck off the rolls. In case of serious illness and absence for more than 5 days the Principal must be informed in writing. No student will be sent home even in urgent need unless a duly authorised person comes to take him / her home. Half-day leave will not be granted to the students. Once they come to the school, they have to attend the whole day, unless requested by parents in person or in writing in case of emergency. Routine late coming will not be tolerated, but will be taken to task.

WITHDRAWAL & DISMISSAL

Students are admitted on the understanding that they will remain in the school at least for the entire academic year. Notice of withdrawal must be given in writing at least one month in advance. Irregular attendance, habitual idleness, disobedience or defiance of authority, lack of sufficient efforts to improve in studies, or conduct against the moral tone of the school & society and parental non-cooperation with the staff or school authorities are sufficient reasons for the dismissal of a student. Any student whose diligence or progress in studies is constantly unsatisfactory will not be allowed to continue in the school.

GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS

Every child of our institutions is a gentleman or lady in the making. Therefore pupils will at all time show respect and reverence to school authorities and members of the staff. Every pupil shall endeavour to uphold the high standard and moral values of the school by excelling in studies and good manners.
English should be spoken in the school premises to acquire greater competency of language. Damage to school property or disfiguring of walls and furniture, indecent language or behaviour are serious offences which may entail punishment and even dismissal. Pupils should keep the class rooms and school premises absolutely clean. The students should not wear gold ornaments or bring other valuable articles to school. The students must be always neat and tidy and that will create a sense of self- respect for the child.

FEE REGULATIONS

In the beginning of the new academic year the parents have to remit annual fee and tuition fee. The parents have to deposit the monthly tuition fee for 12 months of their ward regularly before 15th of every month. You are encouraged to remit the fee of 12 months in three equal installments. The amount once paid will not be refunded. Fee receipts must be retained and produced as proof of payment, if asked for. The school authorities reserve the right to revise fees from time to time as and when it is necessary.

SCHOOL UNIFORM

The school uniform is obligatory on all school days and at official functions.

CERTIFICATE

For any official certificate from the office you have to apply for it at least one day in advance.

MOBILE PHONE

Use of mobile phone in the school campus is strictly forbidden. If anybody found with the mobile phone in the campus it will be confiscated and will be returned only when the candidate takes transfer certificate from the school.

MEDICAL

The students who are seeking admission in the school should be protected against vaccine preventable communicable diseases by following immunization regime covering BCG, OPV, DPT, Measles MMR, Hepatitis B, Typhoid and Chickenpox.Any child who is absent in the class on medical ground should produce medical certificate from a Medical officer with qualifications approved by the government degree. The medical certificate should mention the name of the disease and when the student is fit to attend the class. The student will not be allowed to attend the class till he/she is medically fit.

EVALUATION & PROMOTION

The school conducts exams which are quite innovative and systematic in nature. A permanent system is functioning in the school for the regular and continuous and comprehensive evaluation of the curricular and co-curricular activities of the children. At the end of I Term the Achievement Record is prepared and parents have to sign it in the office without fail. At the end of II Term the Achievement Record will be handed over to the parents. The promotion of the child to the higher class is completely on the basis of the academic performance of the child and on the decision of the Principal of the school, as per the norms of the higher authorities. The Principal retains the complete authority to decide on matters related to promotion. A child must get at least 75% mark in the final assessment in Pre-Primary. Those who fail to secure more than 75% marks in Pre-Primary will not be promoted to the next higher class. The parents have to withdraw such child from the school. Once you have admitted your child in Pre-Primary there is no guarantee that your child will be promoted to I STD after UKG.

ILLNESS & ACCIDENTS

During the course of a school day a child may become ill. Though every care is taken to ensure the safety and welfare of the students, accidents are possible. In such events our first action is to inform the parent. If we cannot reach you we will take the child to the hospital

Parental Co-operation

Parents are kindly requested to co-operate with the school by enforcing regularity, punctuality & discipline and by taking interest in their children's progress. Encourage your child to be open minded, eager to learn and to develop new ideas. Expect and encourage your child to listen in a mutually repectful manner to both peers and adults. The school Diary serves as a means of communication between the school and the parents. Please check the school Diary every day and see to it that the home work assigned for the next day is done and countersign the remarks entered in the School Diary. Occasional newsletters are sent home with the child to update and inform you of school events. Parents/guardians are requested not to visit the children or consult the teachers during class hours without prior permission of the Principal.
Parents/guardians are requested to notify the school office in writing of any change in their address or telephone number. In all communications with the school, the name, Class and Section of their children should be clearly mentioned. It is up to the parents to bring to the attention of the Principal and the teachers their children's habits or traits of character or any other matter that may need special care and attention. Whenever possible avoid taking students out of the school during term time for holidays and other non-academic events. Through the development of tolerance, understanding and a commitment to others support your child in the forming of resilient relationships.

CONVEYANCE

Schools run buses on selected routes, parent can apply for its service to the Principal at the beginning of the academic year. Parents have to make necessary arrangements to hand over and to collect back their children at the scheduled bus stop. After getting off the bus, children should wait at the bus stop till the bus moves again. They should be very cautious and see that they cross the road only after the bus has left the stop so that accidents can be avoided. Parents should see to it that private vehicles are regular and punctual in dropping off and picking up their children.

AMENDMENTS OF RULES

The Principal/Management has the right to introduce, amend or change these rules and regulations in case of exigencies and in furtherance of the aims and objectives of the Managing Society and the School, as and when necessity arises. The ignorance of the Rules and Regulations will not be accepted as excuse for not obeying them.
